Sony TC-WR801ES Cassette Deck - New Belts and Pinch Rollers! Very Good ConditionAll functions work with this deck. Auto Calibration is a cool thing to watch it work through. There is 1 quirk with this unit. When in play mode and you stop playback and then start again it will play for a short time like a couple seconds and stop. The reason due to the transport mechanism doesn't hold the supply spool well with back tension. So what happens is the take up spool will start to turn but the supply spool won't due to the slack in the tape and the deck thinks it is at the end of the tape due to the spool not rotating. You hit fast forward or rewind it will quickly take up the little slack that there is and you can hit play and all is well. Both transports do the exact same thing. I believe it is an inherent flaw with these auto reverse transports.That's why selling for parts as is, no returns.The cassette copies are impressive to say the least, even in high speed dub.I will check feedback before letting an item go.
