Company Generac Power Systems Name Senior Sales & Use Tax Analyst Req # 63898 Employment Type Full Time Shift 1stAt Generac, our people help make the world safer, brighter, and more productiveWe are united by our efforts to inspire change for a better world; impact our people and community; influence and achieve positive results; and innovate the industryOur shared goals allow people with diverse backgrounds and points of view to work together, bringing our global customers peace of mind through reliable products and exceptional supportThe Senior Sales & Use Tax Analyst position works with cross-functional teams across Generac, as well as business contacts outside the companyThe Senior Sales & Use Tax Analyst is responsible for sales and use tax compliance, preparing month-end close adjustments, assisting with sales and use tax audits, performing and documenting technical research, maintaining exemption certificate compliance, identifying and resolving tax exposures, and responding to tax department inquiriesResponsibilities also include staying current on tax law changes and changes in the business activities of the company as well as advising Sales & Use Tax Supervisor regarding strategies for minimizing tax liability Essential Duties and Responsibiities:
Responsible for timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax returns and reconciliations Maintain exemption certificate software and tax determination applicationIdentify where exposures exist and resolve Address tax department inquiries from internal and external business partners Assist with governmental sales and use tax audits Assist with and ensure month-end close deadlines are met Other Duties as assigned and the following:
Review the initial determination of taxation on purchase invoices and identify areas of opportunityPerform reverse audits where needed Advise Sales & Use Tax Supervisor of areas of opportunity and strategies for minimizing tax exposures Conduct technical research and documentation, as needed Remain current on tax law changes and changes in the business activities of the company Perform other duties as assigned Minimal
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field 3 years sales and use tax experience in Corporate Tax or Public Accounting Preferred
Qualifications:
Experience in manufacturing environment Experience with OneSource Tax Determination and Compliance Experience with certificate management software Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency in SAP Proficiency in CCH or other tax research tools Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Strong attention to detail Ability to deal with shifting priorities and deadlines Physical demands:
