Position Summary This paraprofessional position serves as a Records Coordinator in the Division of Transportation Systems Development (DTSD).
It is responsible for co-managing the region records and record retrieval system, administering the Region records management program, and for training region staff on records management.
This position is responsible for the records support of a professional and administrative staff consisting of 350-400 staff.
The essential functions of the position are to develop, implement, and maintain a manual and electronic document filing system which follows all federal and state statutes and procedural guidelines with regards to the operations of the file system.
This position should advocate for streamlining processes by automating as much filing, searching, and dispersement as possible.
This position requires expertise in Records Disposition Authority (RDA), open records laws, and Department policy in order to respond to requests for materials in the files from region and department staff, local, state, and federal governments, other agencies, the legal profession, private business, and the general public.
A fundamental knowledge of highway construction, the statewide letting process, spreadsheet software, categorizing and retrieving files, creation/implementation of a design submittal registry, the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and the use of databases or data warehouses are also necessary.
Salary Information This position is in schedule-range (02-12) with a hourly salary of $22.
95, plus excellent benefits.
A twelve month probationary period is required.
Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

Qualifications Qualified applicants will have experience with all the following:

Experience managing electronic records (e.

, Retention, Retrieval, and Disposal of records; Inventory systems; Electronic records management systems; Document control, etc.
) Special Requirements:
This position requires on a regular basis the ability to lift and carry various files, records, and equipment up to 20 pounds, climb ladders, bend and stoop.
